Week 14
1. What did you do in lab today?
The first thing that we did in lab this week was discuss our elder interviews, which was really interesting to hear what everyone had to say. Then we got into discussion about the false information about climate change in the media. We learned about the greenhouse effect and how CO2 is connected with climate change. We looked at a lot of data and worked with a computer simulation.
2. What was the big question?
How is CO2 impacting our climate?
3. What did you learn in Thursday's discussion?
We learned more about CO2 in lecture and how the levels have been changing over time. We also talked a lot about the Albedo effect and how that plays a role, like with the snowball earth.
4. Textbook: - What did you learn?
One thing that I learned from the readings was the climate change belief has been happening since the 1800s. I always think of it as a new problem, but it is crazy that we knew for over a 100 years and nothing was like done. - What was most helpful?
. I appreciated seeing the pictures of the glacier retreat. I am obviously not around that at all, so it can be hard to understand the true issue. Seeing it in a picture helped me to grasp. - What do you need more information on?
I would like to know more about the coral reefs and how they are being effected by all of this, in more detail.
5. What questions, comments, and/or concerns do you have?
This stuff makes me so mad. Celebrating earth day extra hard.
